God is not looking for brilliant men!!!

"God is not looking for brilliant men, is not depending upon eloquent men, is not shut up to the use of talented men in sending His gospel out in the world. God is looking for broken men who have judged themselves in the light of the cross of Christ. When He wants anything done, He takes up men who have come to the end of themselves, whose confidence is not in themselves, but in God."

God's creation

These are a couple scenery pictures of where we live and what we see daily!

Women of Virtue!

This is my co-worker and I at a Women of Virtue event. It's an outreach to the english speaking population here in Nampula. It has been neat to get involved. It's amazing how many english speaking Africans there are! This ministry is just starting but it is already showing great fruit!!!

Joash gone on trip!

Dear Family and Friends,

I trust you all are doing well! We have some busy days ahead of us and we would like to share with you how things are progressing on our end and how you can pray for us better!

Joash just left bright and early this morning driving to both of our village works. These are just language and culture learning checkups. He will, along side an experienced consultant that flew down to help us from Canada, be evaluating their progress and give them tools to help with their language and culture investigation and further help them along with their language experience. We would appreciate your prayers on their behalf as they are driving, since this time flying was not possible and we are at the end of the rainy season, which means one thing, aweful roads. Please pray for Joash as he drives these men, we know their in the hands of the Lord but knowing our truck and the roads, dependence on the Lord for peace is crucial!

Since Joash plans to be gone for 2 weeks I will be holding down the fort here, which happens to involve a lot this time. We have not yet finalized but will be signing a contract to rent a different place on the 15 of this month, which means I will be doing the negotiating by myself!!!! We already have an idea what is expected but we need to negotiate a little more so pray that I will communicate well! We are very excited for this move since we have been in an apartment our whole time here and it has proved difficult with the kids not being able to play outdoors. We found this house outside of town, it has many trees and a large space for the kids to play, and it’s only $500 a month, which we were paying upwards of $450 depending on the strength of the dollar, with our apartment! We plan to move in May 1st, which means also that I will be doing most of the packing while Joash is gone!

As an update: Joash is about to purchase the tickets for his trip to PNG. Already $400 has come in which has been an encouragement to us!!! Thanks to those who already gave toward this great opportunity, it is a blessing to us and our field as this will really help move us along in our church planting efforts!

We can’t thank you all enough for the vital part you play in our lives and ministry. Our desire for here in Moçambique is not only see people won to Christ, but to see a mature church desiring to glorify God through sharing Christ with there countrymen and also beyond! This effort is going to take sacrifice on everyone’s part and we thank the Lord for the great team He has given us here in Moçambique and our faithful team abroad!!!! Thanks be to God!!!!

Until next time……

Desiring His Glory,

Delia for the Tiarks’
